A residential property in the 3800 block of Deerpath Drive became the scene of two significant fire incidents within less than 24 hours this week, prompting extensive responses from Lake Havasu City Fire Department units. The first fire was reported on Thursday afternoon, September 17, 2026, followed by a substantial rekindle at the same address early Friday morning, September 18, 2026.

The initial blaze was reported at approximately 4:38 pm on Thursday, September 17. The homeowner, who was not at the residence, utilized an internal security camera to discover smoke and flames within the property, subsequently alerting emergency services by calling 911. Upon arrival, the first fire company reported visible flames emanating from a front window of the dwelling.

A substantial contingent of firefighting resources was dispatched to the scene, including five engine companies, one truck company, and a medic unit. Leadership was provided by a deputy chief and a battalion chief. Firefighters worked to bring the blaze under control, achieving this objective in approximately 24 minutes. At the time of the fire, no occupants were present in the residence, and no injuries to firefighters were reported during the operation.

The Lake Havasu City Fire Department's Community Emergency Response Team (LHCFD CERT) responded to assist with the incident, providing firefighter rehabilitation duties for personnel on scene. Concurrently, the Desert Hills Fire Department provided mutual aid by moving resources to Lake Havasu City. This strategic deployment ensured continued coverage for other 911 calls within the city during the ongoing incident. Crews from the Lake Havasu City Fire Department remained at the Deerpath Drive address late into Thursday evening, conducting thorough overhaul operations and commencing investigative procedures into the fire's origin.

The following morning, at approximately 6:04 am on Friday, September 18, emergency services received multiple 911 calls reporting a rekindle at the same Deerpath Drive residence. Callers described fire emerging through the roof of the structure.

Three engine companies, one truck company, and a battalion chief were dispatched to address the rekindled blaze. The first arriving engine company encountered significant fire conditions, reporting defensive operations were necessary due to heavy fire visible through the roof. Fire control was established within 48 minutes of the response. As with the initial incident, the residence remained unoccupied during the rekindle, and no injuries were reported among the responding firefighters. LHCFD CERT once again responded to provide support, assisting with firefighter rehab duties for the crews. After the fire was brought under control, crews remained on scene for an additional three hours to conduct further overhaul operations and ensure the complete extinguishment of all hot spots.

The cause of the fire at the 3800 block of Deerpath Drive, encompassing both the initial incident and the subsequent rekindle, remains under investigation.
