Detectives with the Lake Havasu City Police Department arrested a local man on August 21, 2026, following a traffic stop near Palo Verde Boulevard North and Highway 95 that escalated into a vehicle pursuit. The incident concluded with the recovery of approximately two kilograms of cocaine, valued at an estimated $200,000, and multiple felony charges for the driver.

At approximately 1:24 p.m. on August 21, detectives with the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit were conducting traffic enforcement in the area. The unit, which is a component of the Mohave Area General Narcotics Enforcement Team (MAGNET), had been conducting an investigation into allegations of cocaine distribution throughout Lake Havasu City. Detectives observed a civil traffic violation on a vehicle that was associated with their ongoing investigation and attempted to initiate a traffic stop.

The driver of the vehicle failed to yield to the detectives’ emergency lights and siren, prompting a vehicle pursuit. The chase spanned approximately three miles, continuing through parts of Lake Havasu City.

The pursuit concluded in the 1300 block of London Bridge Road. During the chase, the driver entered the parking area at Mesquite Bay South. While in the parking area, detectives observed the driver throw two brick-shaped packages from the passenger-side window of the vehicle. Following this, the vehicle made a U-turn and attempted to flee the area again.

The fleeing vehicle subsequently struck a detective’s patrol vehicle, rendering it unable to continue escaping. The driver was then taken into custody without further incident. No injuries were reported as a result of the collision.

The driver was identified as 41-year-old Lake Havasu City resident Jeremy Bowers. Detectives swiftly recovered the two packages that had been discarded from the vehicle. The contents of these packages were a white, powdery substance that field-tested positive for cocaine. The total weight of the two packages was approximately two kilograms, confirming the significant quantity of the illicit drug.

Bowers faces a series of charges related to the incident. These include Transportation of Narcotic Drugs, a Class 2 felony; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Class 6 felony; Unlawful Flight from a Pursuing Law Enforcement Vehicle, a Class 5 felony; Criminal Damage, a Class 1 misdemeanor; Tampering with Physical Evidence, a Class 6 felony; and Resisting Arrest, a Class 1 misdemeanor.

During his initial court appearance, Jeremy Bowers was issued a $100,000 cash-only bond. He was subsequently transported to the Mohave County Detention Facility, where he remains.
