Tucson Roadrunners Hockey reported that the Tucson Roadrunners, the American Hockey League affiliate of the Utah Mammoth, have established a new partnership with Arizona home service provider Parker & Sons to launch a community recognition initiative.

Under the newly announced agreement, Parker & Sons serves as the official community recognition program partner for the team. The Arizona-based business, which provides heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing, and electrical services, will act as the presenting sponsor for the Roadrunners’ Community Member of the Game program. Additionally, the company will sponsor official rides on the arena's ice-resurfacing machine during home games.

The Community Member of the Game initiative is designed to highlight individuals who make meaningful contributions throughout the Tucson community. Organizers have established broad eligibility guidelines to recognize citizens who contribute positively without expecting public recognition. Those eligible for nomination include teachers, coaches, first responders, healthcare workers, volunteers at nonprofit organizations, mentors, local small business owners, and everyday neighbors who go above and beyond in their daily lives.

During selected home games across the upcoming season, the organization will select one honoree from the pool of eligible submissions. The selected individual will receive public recognition in front of the arena crowd, including a featured presentation on the arena videoboard. Each honoree will also take a ride on the Parker & Sons Zamboni during the game's first intermission.

Rob Mattina, President of the Tucson Roadrunners, told Tucson Roadrunners Hockey that the franchise is proud to collaborate with Parker & Sons on an initiative focused on celebrating people who make Southern Arizona special. Mattina noted that many area residents make daily contributions to the community without expecting public acknowledgment, and the initiative provides a structured platform to express appreciation and showcase their efforts to fans throughout the hockey season.

Steve Peitler, General Manager of Parker & Sons, told Tucson Roadrunners Hockey that the service company remains committed to delivering HVAC, plumbing, and electrical services while maintaining a positive role in local communities. Peitler stated that the Roadrunners have cultivated a dedicated fan base across Southern Arizona, and Parker & Sons is excited to join that effort. He added that the partnership allows the business to support local families, build community connections, and align with an organization that shares similar core values.

The nomination process for the Community Member of the Game program is open to the general public. Anyone can submit a nomination entry on behalf of a deserving individual, including family members, friends, work colleagues, or the nominees themselves.

To qualify for the program, all nominees must be legal residents of the state of Arizona and must be at least 18 years of age at the time their entry is submitted. Furthermore, selected honorees must be physically present at the designated home game to accept the videoboard recognition and participate in the first-intermission Zamboni ride.

Members of the public who wish to submit a nomination or review full program details can access the application portal directly online through the official Tucson Roadrunners website.
